目標
・2026年3月以降の英字新聞・英語媒体が大きく取り上げた世界の2-3の国・地域について、記事や資料から現状や歴史的背景を理解する。
・英文記事に慣れ親しみ、より正確に情報を読み取る。
・世界の今を伝える英語から豊かな語彙・表現を学ぶ。
講義概要
2026年春、世界はどうなっているでしょう? 3月以降に英字新聞・メディアが大きく報じた2〜3の国・地域について、記事その他の英文資料を読み、世界の現状を伝える生の英語を学びましょう。対象の国・地域を順次取り上げます。それぞれについて比較的平易な記事・資料から現状や背景を学んだ後、やや難易度の高い現地リポートや論説に挑戦します。初回は授業中に記事を読みますが、2回目以降は設問に沿って読んで来ていただき、グループで内容確認・意見交換をします。講師・受講生共に、ネットその他の資料を使ってリサーチを重ね、対象地域の現状や歴史・文化的背景の理解を深めながら、今を映し出す英語表現・語彙を習得しましょう。

◆宿題:1,000ワード程度の英文記事を設問に即して読んでいただきます。
講師紹介
- 及川 裕子
- 元恵泉女学園大学講師
- 東京出身。上智大学英文科、University of Wisconsin-Madison修士課程(インド史)卒業。オープンカレッジでは主に時事英語系を担当。ライターとして、『ヘラルド朝日』、『The Japan News』(旧The Daily Yomiuri)紙に音楽家のインタビュー記事等を執筆。
